Or was it that other place, I can never quite remember..

We're born on a useless planet
On a great big useless waste
Some say we're born for greater things
Some say we were born in haste

I've looked around my fantasies
And every corner of my dreams
I've searched every hole inside
Looking for the seams

I tried to do what others did, that, I really did
Tried to learn it all and get married
I even did a sin
But despite all the bother and clamour
With all the educated ones (in my ear...)
I found that no matter how loud and proud (they would yell)
It wouldn't change a thing

Following all the suggestions
Following all the advice
Will get you so incredibly far
Right far off the cliff

When you try to do what others do
Try to follow "God's plan for them"
When you try to understand what's in store
You'll never think of sin

When you want something beautiful
Even someone to call your wife
When you've looked so hard and far
Even found a knife (no need for that..)

I tell you, my dear friend
Once, I tell you twice
